We now have both hot water in the bathroom and lighting in the living room!

Three friendly workmen arrived at various times to fit a new central heating boiler. The old boiler heated the house well but was not good at diverting heat into the hot water system. An electrician came and changed the light fitting in the living room - the old one had bulbs that were sensitive to vibration and did not cope well with members of this household walking about upstairs. So I can now see the computer and not just the screen.

Reading a foreword written by John Peel this evening, reminded me that various friends and acquaintances have at times compared my physical appearance to both that of John Peel and Thomas Merton. I'm not sure which comparison is the greater honour.

Have just been listening to mevennen on what is now Glastonbury Radio , having sorted out the technical problems on Ubuntu (this is a Linux computer).
