Bravissimo
Dec. 9th, 2006 11:59 pmThis morning I went shopping for laser paper and larger plastic crates, calling at the post office below the station to buy an assortment of stamps. This year Mrs Badger would like a clear living room, hence the plastic crates to store the loose papers and clutter, together with a solemn promise by me that they will eventually find their way into the attic. The stamps are for Yule cards and presents, which I will resume sending this year. Several friends who have asked about druidry, particularly at our recent handfasting, will receive copies of Bobcat's Living Druidry, or Philip Carr-Gomm's Druid Way.
The Druid Way is one of my favourites – quite apart from it being a wonderful book in its own right, I have always been magically drawn to the area around the Long Man between Lewes and Eastbourne. When I first moved to the South East over twenty years ago I went for a long walk down there and discovered the Long Man, quite serendipitously. This random picture is from a few years later.

This afternoon we went shopping for bras for my elder (and female) cub. Because of her special needs, this sort of thing was a nightmare in the past when I was a single parent – I had to find a likely looking assistant in M&S and hand her over, hoping they would both cope with the experience and elder cub would come back with an appropriate product. Mrs Badger being female can accompany her and ask the right questions, as well as being a former dressmaker and art student with a much better eye for clothes than I have. We went to Bravissimo where they have sofas for male relatives, rather like the large branch of Gap in Oxford Street. My task was to queue and pay at the end. Afterwards we all went to see Flushed Away at the Odeon – not my favourite kind of film, but I did enjoy it.
